PRESENT PERFECT PROGRESSIVE

The Present Perfect Progressive (or Continuous) is a verb tense which is used to show that an action started in the past and has continued up to the present moment.

The Present Perfect Continuous usually emphasizes duration, or the amount of time that an action has been taking place.

SIMPLE PAST VS PRESENT PERFECT

We use the Simple Past for past events or actions which have no connection to the present.

We use the Present Perfect for actions which started in the past and are still happening now OR for finished actions which have a connection to the present.

We CAN'T use the Present Perfect with a finished time word: NOT: I've been to the museum yesterday.
